Position: Laboratory Services CoordinatorLocation: Ann Arbor, MI 48109Duration: 3 Months Job Type: Temporary Assignment Work Type: Onsite Shift: Monday to Friday from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM Summary Material Handler II / Laboratory Services Coordinator role provides a single point of contact for coordinated laboratory services, operational support, and supply management. The position focuses on delivering scientific support services across core offerings, including order entry and management, procurement system support, stockroom operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, chemical tracking, and glass-wash services. The role supports customer laboratories by ensuring efficient service delivery while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory support services, including glassware collection, cleaning, sterilization, and biological waste collection
  • Deliver direct shipment orders to end users and perform on-site deliveries as required
  • Support order entry, order management, and customer procurement systems
  • Manage stockroom operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, and chemical tracking
  • Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and aim for first-call resolution within established turnaround times
  • Stay current with policies, procedures, and process improvements to support continuous improvement
  • Apply Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies in daily operations
  • Represent the client professionally and positively at all customer locations
  • Work independently at customer sites when required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of equivalent experience; material handling or prior laboratory experience.
  • Glass-wash and laboratory support operations experience if the candidate is from lab background.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Experience operating a pallet jack is preferred
  • Ability to perform extensive walking (approximately 6-8 miles per day)
  • Proven customer service skills with a strong customer-focused mindset
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • High level of confidentiality when handling customer and company information
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work across office, laboratory, stockroom, and shipping/receiving environments
