Locum Paediatric Consultant

Our client is inviting applications for a Locum Consultant Paediatrician to join a dedicated paediatric team delivering high quality care to infants, children, and adolescents within the HSE. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, patient focused environment. The contract is starting 15 June 2026 for 6 months.

• Provide consultant level care in general paediatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings

• Participate in acute paediatric services, including on call rota

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of paediatric conditions

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, allied health, and other specialties

• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and service development

• Supervise and support junior medical staf

• Registration as a specialist in Paediatrics with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for same

• Relevant experience at consultant level (or equivalent)

• Strong clinical, organisational, and communication skills

• Commitment to high standards of patient care

• Experience in acute paediatrics or a relevant subspecialty

• Previous experience within the Irish healthcare system

• Interest in teaching, training, and quality improvement initiatives
