As our National Sales Manager - Merchant & Retail, you will maintain and grow strategic relationships and purchases from all members and branches of the Builders Merchant and Retail customers in England, Scotland & Wales. You will also manage and motivate the Regional Account Managers (RKAM's) to ensure sales growth of the company's full range of products and services in these sectors, whilst becoming individually established in industry organisations such as the BMF to ensure Knauf Insulation are suitably positioned as a market leader.

What you'll be doing
  • Leadership of the merchant team (RKAMS's) to ensure the Company's sales objectives are achieved in the sector. Direct the team through the management of business plans, territory planning, call agendas and targeting to achieve sales and volume requirements

  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with key buying groups and builders merchants

  • Drive the use of OneCRM as KI's primary digital customer management platform. OneCRM is to be kept up to date with all necessary information. Key metrics and KPI's will need to be achieved including call rates and account plan management

  • Ensure the team develop SMART business plans with the identified target partners/members

  • Ensure the merchant team review business plans with each relevant partner on a quarterly basis, reporting on previous quarter activities and actions and making sure the actions for the following quarter are documented and shared

  • Work with the building sales team to initiate the business plans and follow through on all agreed actions, taking ownership for the completion of all agreed tasks within the timeframes stated. This requires close collaboration with the local KI sales teams

  • Monitor IMG training on KI products and solutions

  • Growing sales of Value Added Products - glass and rock. % growth to be agreed with Sales Director before the start of each sales cycle

  • To develop relationships with IMGs not currently buying from KI

  • Ensuring that all members/partners understand any changes to the Building Regulations and the potential opportunities and threats

  • Monitor customer activity both financially and commercially to ensure that their full potential is realised.
