Network Engineer - 12-Month Contract - Manchester (Inside IR35)

Contracting role based in Manchester (Hybrid, 3 days in office) for a 12-month engagement within the banking sector. You will work on enterprise-level network infrastructure transformation, responsible for end-to-end delivery of network deployment and migration projects - ensuring secure and efficient application flows across firewalled environments while adhering to strict banking compliance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute end-to-end network infrastructure deployment and migration projects within a large-scale banking environment
• Configure and support Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE devices across enterprise network environments
• Implement and manage Firewall solutions across Fortinet, Juniper, and Cisco platforms, ensuring secure data flow across firewalled networks
• Manage application migration across network environments, troubleshooting issues and optimising performance throughout
• Ensure compliance with banking processes, security standards, and regulatory requirements at all stages of delivery
• Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to coordinate delivery and resolve technical challenges

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience - essential
• Strong expertise in TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols
• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE platforms
• Experience implementing and managing Firewalls across Fortinet, Juniper, and Cisco
• Strong understanding of IGP and BGP routing protocols
• Proven experience delivering large-scale network deployment and application migration projects
• Basic Python Scipting knowledge

• Duration: 12 months
• Rate: £400day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Manchester (3 days per week)
