We are supporting a policing organisation in the search for an experienced Network Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
This role will suit a hands-on Network Engineer with strong experience across Cisco networking and FortiGate Firewalls within secure policing or constabulary environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise LAN infrastructure within a secure policing environment
• Configure and administer Cisco Switches and switching infrastructure
• Manage and support FortiGate Firewall environments
• Maintain and troubleshoot Firewall policies, rules and connectivity issues
• Support network changes, upgrades and incident resolution across secure environments
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure network performance, resilience and security
• Assist with documentation, network diagrams and operational procedures
• Provide support across both BAU and project activity

Essential Experience

• Strong experience as a Network Engineer within a policing, constabulary or similarly secure environment
• Proven experience with Cisco networking, including Switches and switching technologies
• Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate Firewalls
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN environments
• Strong understanding of Firewall technologies, configuration and support
• Experience working in secure or highly regulated environments
• Active NPPV3 clearance is essential and must already be in place

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working within UK policing organisations
• Experience supporting network refresh or migration projects
• Knowledge of wider network security technologies and best practice
