We are seeking an experienced Network/Telecom Engineer to support public health infrastructure operations, including COVID and other infectious disease case investigation and contact tracing systems. The selected professional will work directly with full-time State employees to provide infrastructure and operations support for existing PHIN (Public Health Information Network) operations.
This is a hands-on technical role involving the design, maintenance, and administration of network and telecom systems, as well as support for critical Linux and Windows server environments.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain both the hardware and software necessary for computer network operations.
Specialize in Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), TCP/IP, virtual machines, and/or server/network infrastructure.
Install, configure, and administer network routers and switches.
Perform installation of cable, wiring, and related equipment for telephony and data interfaces and systems with communications functions.
Execute disaster recovery, backup, and archiving procedures to ensure system continuity.
Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, database administration, and fault management for network systems.
Manage Apache Tomcat and Wildfly configurations for Java web application deployments.
Provide support for Linux and Windows clusters, including systems administration and automation tasks.
Assist in Storage Area Network (SAN) management and operations.
