Job Title: NOC Architect / NOC SME - Network Operations Centre
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35) - 3 months initially w/ likely extensions
Rate: £700-750 p/day
Responsibilities
- Architecture Design: Design and develop the overall architecture of the GNOC, including network topology, hardware, software, security components, people including skills assessment, roles and training requirements.
- Technology Selection: Evaluating and recommending appropriate technologies and tools for network monitoring, management, and automation within the GNOC.
- Infrastructure Planning: Designing and planning the physical infrastructure of the GNOC, including space, power, cooling, and network connectivity.
- Security Implementation: Ensuring the security of the GNOC infrastructure and data, including access controls, intrusion detection, and incident response.
- Automation & Orchestration: Implementing automation and orchestration solutions to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
- Performance Optimization: Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the GNOC infrastructure and network services.
- Incident Management: Developing and implementing incident management processes for the GNOC, ensuring timely and effective resolution of network issues.
- Documentation & Standards: Creating and maintaining documentation for the GNOC architecture, procedures, and standards.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other IT teams, including security, systems, and applications, to ensure seamless integration and support.
Skills and Expertise
- Expertise in Network Technologies: Deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN technologies.
- Incident Management: Experience with incident management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and incident response processes.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
