Observability Engineer (SC Eligible)
Rate: £580/day Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Location: Mostly remote (Telford occasional onsite - 2 days/month)
Clearance: SC Eligible
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Observability Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise-grade monitoring and observability solutions across complex technology environments. The role focuses on improving service visibility, performance insight, and proactive incident detection.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions across enterprise platforms
Translate NFRs and monitoring requirements into Dynatrace configurations
Deliver APM, log analytics, synthetic monitoring, and infrastructure observability
Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and performance visualisations
Integrate observability into architecture, development, and delivery processes
Support proactive incident management and service reliability improvements
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and delivery teams across technical and non-technical groups
Drive continuous improvement in monitoring maturity across teams
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in SRE principles and methodologies
Hands-on experience with Dynatrace (mandatory)
Strong understanding of APM tooling and enterprise observability
Experience with logs, metrics, synthetics, and distributed system monitoring
Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues
Strong communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale environments
Desirable
Dynatrace Associate Certification
Experience working in immature or evolving observability environments
Exposure to large-scale transformation or cloud-native systems
