OpenShift Engineer

Job Description

We are supporting one of our largest UK clients to onboard multiple OpenShift Platform Engineer's to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on the engineering, support, and improvement of their enterprise OpenShift platform. The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically strong, and proactive, with a DevOps mindset to improve platform reliability, performance and user experience. This is an INSIDE IR35 contract and will be working FULLY REMOTE on a rolling 6 month contract.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, engineering and design for the OpenShift platform.
  • Implement and enhance automation processes.
  • Maintain and improve platform reliability, observability, and resilience using SRE principles.
  • Contribute to incident, problem, and change management processes in line with regulated environment standards.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience managing OpenShift platforms.
  • experience working with VMware/virtualised infrastructure.
  • experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
  • Competence in at least one Scripting/programming language.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.

Nice to have's

  • Exposure to SRE practices.
  • experience with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in container platforms.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
