About the Role
We are looking for an Operational Support Analyst to join a 24/7 Control Point Operations team supporting critical renewable energy and battery generation services. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in Service Desk, NOC, Operations Centre, Control Room or other mission-critical operational environments.
You will monitor operational systems, manage critical communications, support incident management, and ensure the safe and continuous operation of energy assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for operational alerts and service requests via phone, email, chat and monitoring tools.
- Log, manage and track incidents and service requests through to resolution or appropriate escalation.
- Monitor operational dashboards, applications and communication channels within a 24/7 shift environment.
- Receive, validate and process operational instructions from authorised stakeholders.
- Communicate operational updates clearly to internal teams and asset owners.
- Monitor system performance and identify operational issues, escalating where required.
- Support application administration, including user access, password resets and basic configuration.
- Maintain accurate operational records, shift handovers and daily reports.
- Assist with incident coordination and business continuity procedures.
- Follow operational procedures and ensure compliance with service standards.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and knowledge management activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Service Desk, NOC, Operations Centre, Control Room or other critical operations environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and accurate in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience managing incidents and operational escalations.
- Comfortable working permanent office-based rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within utilities, renewable energy, battery storage or power generation.
- Understanding of renewable energy operations or grid services.
- Knowledge of business continuity and operational resilience.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent awareness.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and macros.
- Basic understanding of the UK electricity wholesale market.
