Purpose of the Role:

As a Payments Associate, your primary responsibility will be to investigate and resolve payments that deviate from the Straight-Through Processing (STP) workflow. You will manage and process payment queues within Montran JGPS and SWIFT, ensuring compliance with currency cut-off times. Your attention to detail will be vital for verifying payments and obtaining necessary cross-currency exchange rates from the Treasury Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage various payment queues within Montran JGPS for both London and EMEA Offices.
  • Conduct exception-based monitoring and manually repair payments outside of STP processing.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including PD-IS, CMS, and the Treasury, to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Process high volumes of payment repairs, especially during month-end peak processing times.
  • Compile and produce monthly payment-related Management Information System (MIS) reports.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support system enhancements and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy while processing large volumes of payments under tight deadlines.
  • Multitasking Ability: Manage conflicting priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Maintain a versatile attitude to adapt to varying tasks and deadlines.
  • Proactivity: Demonstrate a self-motivated approach to responsibilities and be proactive in identifying solutions.
  • Payments Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry standards, including PSD2 and ISO 20022.
  • SWIFT Formatting Expertise: Excellent understanding of SWIFT payment formatting.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
