Offer DescriptionThe Sustainability Institute/School of BEES are now recruiting for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on the project 'The spatial and population ecology of white-tailed eagles since their reintroduction to Ireland'. A total of 245 white-tailed eagle chicks have been reintroduced to Ireland since 2007 and there is now an established breeding population of about 15 pairs. All reintroduced birds have been satellite or wing tagged to follow their movement and survival. The aim of this project is to investigate these extensive, unique datasets to help understand the population dynamics, population viability, and the movement ecology of this reintroduced population. The focus is to analyze existing data, though there could be an opportunity to drive further fieldwork if a clear need is identified.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI's. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEIResearcher Career Development Framework Irish Universities Association
