We are keen to speak to qualified, chartered or incorporated engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations; preparation of contract documents and specifications. The role will also include project planning, management and monitoring, and liaising with clients and contractors. A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential and use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing a consistent high level technical design service;
• Providing support, training and guidance to other staff;
• Effective client liaison and communication;
• Reporting to the Highways Director;
• Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration;
• Financial and commercial management;
• Experience of working in a highway design office is essential, typically with at least 10 years' practical design experience.

Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered or incorporated status;
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic;
• Strong active travel experience;
• Proven experience of working with Local Authorities;
• Capable of operating with minimal supervision; and
• Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
