Join our Watford team as a Tax Manager, where you will play a crucial role in helping to grow the firm. This position offers a blend of technical challenges and client interaction, ideal for a proactive and skilled individual eager to make an impact within a dynamic environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work closely with the Tax Principals and other team members to achieve results and foster an excellent team environment.
- Engage directly with clients to understand and meet their requirements, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Prepare personal, partnership, and trust tax returns for some of the firm's more complex clients.
- Review personal tax returns, advice, or other technical work prepared by junior team members.
- Identify tax planning opportunities, advise clients, and assist in implementing chosen options.
- Handle HMRC enquiries and compliance checks efficiently.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and Principals across the firm on ad-hoc advisory work to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CTA qualified or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a personal tax practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, with excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to manage junior team members.
- Proficient in managing a client portfolio, responsible for compliance work and spotting tax planning opportunities.
- Good IT skills, ideally with experience using Digita tax software.
- Up-to-date technical tax knowledge, evidenced by recent training and experience.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and colleagues.
