The Role
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with strong Government Digital Service (GDS) expertise to join a high-profile public sector programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of citizen-centric digital services, ensuring alignment with GDS standards and best practices.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, driving product strategy, shaping roadmaps, and delivering measurable outcomes within an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product life cycle from discovery through to live
- Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Ensure compliance with GDS Service Standards and assessments
- Collaborate with delivery teams including user researchers, designers, developers, and stakeholders
- Use data and user insight to make evidence-based decisions
- Manage stakeholders across government departments effectively
- Support service assessments, Alpha/beta phases, and continuous improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager within GDS or public sector environments
- Strong understanding of GDS frameworks, standards, and service assessments
- Demonstrable experience delivering products in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands
- Experience using data, research, and metrics to drive decisions
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
- Availability to start within a short notice period
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced government delivery environment
Desirable
- Experience working on high-volume digital services
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design
- Exposure to service transformation programmes
