Project Accountant

I am pleased to be partnering with a private equity-backed engineering and manufacturing business to hire a team of Interim Project Accountants to support them through a period of change and transformation.

Operating across complex, long-term projects, this organisation delivers solutions from raw materials through to fully finished products, and is now strengthening its finance capability to support growth, governance, and performance in a private equity environment.

As Project Accountant, you will work closely with both finance, operational and project teams to ensure robust financial control and accurate reporting across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee revenue recognition across multiple projects
• Support with private equity reporting standards and accounting processes
• Track and analyse project budgets, costs, and margins to maintain robust financial control
• Produce detailed project financial reports and cash flow forecasts
• Deliver clear financial insights to inform strategic and commercial decision-making
• Partner with project managers to understand project lifecycles and to ensure accurate cost allocation and effective cost control
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks across long-term projects
• Support both internal and external audit processes

What we are looking for:

• CIMA/ACCA qualified or technically strong QBE Accountants
• Must have experience of working in engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, or similar sectors
• Experience working in a PE backed organisation, or exposure to investor-led reporting requirements
• Experienced in revenue recognition and accounting standards (IFRS 15 is desirable)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into commercial insight
• Confident communicator with experience partnering with operational stakeholders

What's in it for you:

• Initially offered on an interim basis for 6 months - with the possibility of an extension.
• Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of 3 days on site per week.
• Up to £300 per day (Inside IR35)
• Start ASAP
