Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Project Manager for a 5 month contract based in London. (Hybrid Working)
Purpose of the Role:
An accomplished Project Manager leading the end-to-end delivery of a multi-million-pound Surveillance Compliance Remediation Programme. Accountable for delivering complex regulatory, business, and technology workstreams designed to strengthen surveillance capabilities, enhance control effectiveness, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory expectations across multiple business units and legal entities.
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale Surveillance Compliance Remediation Programme from initiation through implementation and closure.
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams covering Scenario Adequacy & Effectiveness, Key Control Management, Surveillance Training, Operating Model Design & Implementation, Defect Remediation, Data Re-ingestion, Market Data Utilisation, and Scenario Calibration.
- Develop and manage project budgets, delivery plans, resource allocation, dependencies, milestones, and governance frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Compliance, Surveillance, Technology, Operations, Risk, Data Management, and Front Office functions.
- Ensure surveillance remediation activities align with regulatory requirements, internal control standards, and strategic business objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective programme governance, including Steering Committee reporting, executive updates, decision logs, and milestone tracking.
- Proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID), implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delivery risk.
- Lead organisational change activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, change impact assessments, change risk reviews, and business readiness planning.
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies to deliver iterative technology solutions while meeting fixed regulatory deadlines.
What we require from the candidate:
- Proven experience managing large-scale Surveillance, Regulatory, or Compliance remediation programmes within Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of Trade Surveillance, Market Surveillance, regulatory control frameworks, and surveillance operating models.
- Demonstrated success delivering business and technology change across multiple workstreams and legal entities.
- Excellent programme governance, financial management, planning, and delivery leadership skills.
