Location: Oxfordshire
Contract Type: Temporary
Daily Rate: £200 per day, inside IR35 paid to Umbrella
Contract Length: 6 months (potential extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time

Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled Radio Comms Technician to join their dynamic team in the public services sector. This vital role focuses on ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of the Force's radio communications infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
As a Radio Comms Technician, you will be responsible for:

1. Hardware Testing & Provisioning: Execute testing and provide radio-related hardware in line with plans and established standards to support the Force's radio estate.

2. Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on hardware and software to meet business requirements and ensure ongoing operation.

3. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues, collaborating with colleagues and external resources as necessary to maintain operational continuity.

4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all hardware/software items and configuration changes to ensure the integrity of the Force's radio estate.

5. Stock Management: Ensure adequate levels of radios and ancillary equipment are maintained, and negotiate with suppliers regarding delivery.

6. Security Compliance: Uphold the security of the radio estate in accordance with Home Office guidelines.

7. Incident Management: Handle support requests by following established procedures, providing information for incident resolution, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Characteristics of the Role:
The ideal candidate will work primarily within a single infrastructure, setting priorities to manage their daily workload effectively. You will be recognized as a practitioner in radio equipment, capable of lifting, carrying, and operating hand tools. Occasional travel outside the Force area may be required on short notice.

Essential Skills and Experience:
To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Understanding of Radio Technology: Insight into how radio technology impacts policing and business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication abilities with a customer-focused approach.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and think logically in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Service Level Understanding: Familiarity with Service Level Agreements.
  • Mobility: A full UK driving license is essential due to the role's travel requirements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience working with various computer applications and an understanding of radio communications infrastructure.

Desirable Attributes:

    • A good grasp of the radio communications landscape.
