We're recruiting for experienced Infrastructure Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with strong expertise in either Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to support a major secure infrastructure programme within the UK defence sector.
This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled technical team delivering and supporting enterprise-scale platforms across a complex, security-sensitive environment. You'll provide specialist knowledge, contribute to technical design and implementation, and help ensure resilient, secure and high-performing infrastructure services.
Whether your expertise is centred around Linux platforms or Microsoft identity services, we're keen to hear from professionals who have worked within secure enterprise or defence environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership within your specialist infrastructure domain.
- Design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure solutions in highly secure environments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to infrastructure modernisation projects.
Essential Skills & ExperienceRHEL SME
- Strong commercial experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Knowledge of Red Hat technologies including Satellite, SELinux, Kickstart, Podman and IdM/FreeIPA.
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible.
- Exposure to OpenShift or container platforms is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of Linux system administration, security hardening and enterprise infrastructure.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience delivering infrastructure within Defence, Government or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience working on large enterprise transformation or infrastructure refresh programmes.
- Microsoft or Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE or Microsoft certifications).
- Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud technologies.
