Circa £550 per day via Umbrella Company

My high profile Utilities client within the UK electricity transmission sector is seeking aRisk Analyst to support portfolio delivery and risk management across a complex national plan.

This role sits within a growing team responsible for providing insight, assurance, and governance over a large-scale outage and delivery plan. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and managing delivery risks, providing clear analysis and actionable intelligence to operational teams and senior leadership.

The Role

You will work collaboratively across the business to develop a holistic view of risks to the delivery plan, including regulatory, customer, operational and Net Zero commitments. Using strong analytical capability, you will turn data into meaningful insights that drive informed decision-making from project level through to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and manage portfolio-level risks, challenging mitigation plans and escalating where appropriate.
• Provide subject matter input to risk decisions, supported by engineering or system-based understanding where possible.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel and Power BI, providing regular and ad-hoc management information.
• Support governance and decision-making frameworks across planning, prioritisation and change processes.
• Partner with stakeholders to define success metrics, risk impacts and mitigation effectiveness.
• Drive improvements in reporting through automation and improved data quality.
• Lead cross-department collaboration on KPIs, data sharing and risk transparency.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong experience in risk analysis within a complex operational environment.
• Working knowledge of Excel and Power BI
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, from project teams to executive level.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, quantify risk and challenge assumptions.
• Good understanding of the utilities or regulated infrastructure environment (highly desirable).
• Power systems or engineering knowledge beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to manage priorities, work to deadlines and operate with minimal supervision.
