SC Cleared Desktop Engineer - 3 months Contract - £220/day via umbrella company - onsite Barrow-in-Furness - SCC FLEX CONTRACT

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our IT Support Team. In this role, you will provide essential deskside and remote support, delivering break/fix services, troubleshooting Windows environments, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the organisation. You will also work closely with third-party vendors, support hardware refresh activity, and maintain accurate documentation within ITSM tools.

Your responsibilities as a Desktop Engineer:

• Provide break/fix support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and end-user devices.
• Re-image devices, reinstall and configure applications, and support general hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across Windows OS, hardware, M365, Teams, and enterprise applications.
• Coordinate escalations, repairs, and hardware replacements with third-party vendors.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and updates within ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Ivanti.
• Support user issues, hardware refresh cycles, and day-to-day technical queries.
• Install pre-packaged software manually (eg, via USB) when required.
• Assist with migration and upgrade activities, including Windows 10 to Windows 11 transitions.

As a suitable Desktop Engineer, you will have:

• Proven experience in technical support, break/fix, and troubleshooting across end-user devices.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, M365, Teams, and ITSM tools - Ivanti experience required.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and resolve issues efficiently and independently.
• Experience coordinating with third-party vendors for hardware replacements and escalations.
• Excellent documentation skills within IT service management systems.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Active SC Clearance.
