Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Scientist I for our Pharmaceutical partner in Waltham, MA.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $55.86. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Overview

A leading global healthcare organization is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Analytical Development group within the Genomic Medicine Unit BioAnalytics team. This role focuses on developing, validating, and transferring analytical methods used for characterization and release testing of viral and non-viral therapeutics supporting clinical-stage gene therapy programs.

This position operates within a cGMP environment and requires strong technical expertise in molecular biology assays, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced research and development setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, and transfer molecular biology assays supporting gene therapy development
  • Perform PCR-based analytical testing including qPCR and dPCR/ddPCR methodologies
  • Support characterization and release testing for viral and non-viral therapeutics
  • Maintain accurate research documentation, audit trails, and cGMP-compliant records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within analytical development and bioanalytics
  • Support assay optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement
  • Participate in method development activities for next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or related scientific field with 4-6 years of industry experience
    OR
  • Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or related scientific field with 2+ years of industry experience
Required Experience & Skills
  • Hands-on assay development experience
  • Strong experience with qPCR and dPCR/ddPCR techniques
  • Experience working within a cGMP-regulated environment
  • Knowledge of research documentation practices and audit trail compliance
  • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) development preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cell culture experience
  • Bioassay development or analytical testing experience
  • Experience supporting analytical development for gene therapy or biologics programs


Pay Details: $55.86 per hour
