A large enterprise organisation is evolving its end-user connectivity model, increasing reliance on centralised web security and traffic management services for Internet-bound access.

This shift places greater emphasis on the design, resilience and governance of secure web gateway and Proxy platforms, which underpin user access to both internal and external services. These services are critical to maintaining security controls, regulatory alignment and consistent user experience at scale.

The organisation is seeking a Security Proxy Engineer with strong hands-on expertise to support, enhance and govern the Proxy environment, ensuring it remains scalable, resilient and aligned to enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for an enterprise-scale web Proxy/secure egress platform, acting as a senior escalation point within the team
  • Implement, troubleshoot and optimise Proxy solutions, including policy management and traffic handling
  • Conduct network tracing and packet-level analysis to diagnose complex connectivity and inspection issues
  • Support delivery of changes within a controlled environment, adhering to established governance and change processes
  • Contribute to the development of standards, as well as ongoing improvements to performance, resilience and service quality

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Proxy or secure web gateway technologies within a large, complex enterprise environment
  • Experience with at least one leading Proxy/SWG platform such as Zscaler, Netskope or equivalent
  • Background supporting secure web access services in regulated environments with formal change control practices
  • Advanced troubleshooting capability, including network tracing and packet-level analysis (eg TCP/IP, TLS/SSL, authentication flows)
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a BAU/operational engineering role
  • Experience working within structured governance and change management frameworks

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting web security services at global or large-enterprise scale
  • Exposure to identity-based traffic handling and inspection/encryption controls
