About the RoleAn established accountancy practice in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and is a confident, capable professional ready to take ownership from day one. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing their own client portfolio and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services with minimal supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation and review of year-end accounts for a portfolio of clientsManaging a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industriesPreparation of tax computations and tax returnsPreparation and submission of corporation tax returnsReviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accountsSupporting and reviewing the work of junior team membersActing as a main point of contact for clients, offering advice and guidanceOccasional client visits as requiredEnsuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines
RequirementsACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)Minimum of 3-5 years working within an accountancy practiceStrong technical knowledge of accounts and taxExperience managing a client portfolioStrong experience preparing tax computations and tax returnsExperience using Sage, Xero, and QuickBooksA confident individual who can hit the ground running with minimal supervisionStrong communication and client-facing skillsHigh level of attention to detail and organisationAbility to work independently and as part of a team
DesirableBroader tax experience (e.g. personal tax, corporation tax planning)Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
