Overview

Public sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable data solutions across a modern cloud ecosystem. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the data architecture and mentoring junior team members while contributing to critical transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines
• Lead on data architecture and best practice across cloud platforms
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Fabric for data integration and analytics
• Build and optimise solutions across AWS and Azure environments
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision making

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer in enterprise environments
• Expertise in Microsoft Fabric (or strong exposure to modern MS data stack)
• Proven experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms (AWS Connect experience important)
• Strong ETL/ELT pipeline development experience
• Proficiency in SQL and data modelling
• Experience with modern data warehousing and lakehouse architectures
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
• Experience working within public sector or regulated environments desirable

Additional Information

• Hybrid working model - 1 day onsite every 2 weeks at Morpeth
• BPSS clearance is mandatory
• Immediate start preferred
