Delivery Manager (Data Migration - Cloud Data Platform)
Day rate: c. £500-£520 (inside IR35, depending on experience)
Location: Remote- no Visa requirements
Contract: Initial 6 months, likely extension
The opportunity
We're supporting a large, complex data migration programme, moving from Legacy on-premise infrastructure to a modern cloud data platform built on Snowflake and Azure. The team needs an experienced Delivery Manager who also brings some hands-on Business Analysis capability to help keep delivery on track and stakeholders aligned.
Key responsibilities
Produce and maintain clear technical and functional documentation for the new cloud data platform.
Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into actionable deliverables for technical teams.
Own project governance: manage risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and mitigated.
Lead core delivery ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, showcases, and progress meetings.
Coordinate work across data engineers, data analysts, and non-technical business teams.
Track progress against timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and proactively unblock the team.
Facilitate clear communication and alignment between technical and business stakeholders.
Support testing, validation, and deployment activities for the new data platform.
Ensure all project documentation and governance artefacts are kept accurate and up to date.
Provide regular status updates and reporting to senior stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Delivery Manager on data migration, data platform or cloud projects for a government project.* must
Comfortable doing light Business Analysis: requirement gathering, process mapping, documentation. (business analytics background)
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work with both technical teams and non-technical business users.
Solid understanding of agile delivery practices and how to apply them pragmatically.
Experience in environments using modern cloud data platforms (eg Snowflake, Azure, or similar) is highly desirable.
