Principal Engineer - Application Security Platform - HIRING ASAP

Duration: 12-month contract
Location: 1 week in Galway office, 3 weeks working from home
Rate: €450 - €480 per day

Summary

Join a newly formed Application Security Platform Squad, with the opportunity to shape both the team and platform from the ground up. The squad's mission is to strengthen security across hundreds of customer-facing web applications by improving vulnerability scanning, developer tooling, and security-first practices. You'll lead the design and delivery of scalable security solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows, including centralized scanning, policy management, and security profiling.

Key Skills

• 8+ years building enterprise applications using Java, Python, or Go
• Experience with frameworks/tools such as Spring, Maven, Git, Jenkins, AWS CDK/CFT
• Strong Kubernetes and cloud experience (AWS preferred)
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring, and Agile delivery experience
• Hands-on CI/CD, automation, testing, and scalable system design expertise
• Knowledge of AppSec tools/concepts (SAST, SCA, DAST, WAF, secret scanning) is a plus
• Front End experience with Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript beneficial

• Collaborate across teams, communicate technical designs clearly, and mentor engineers
