Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a globally distributed Derivatives Clearing technology team within a leading financial markets organisation.

Working within a high-performing engineering environment, you will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of software solutions that support critical clearing and post-trade business functions. The role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development life cycle, influence technical design decisions, and help deliver scalable, secure and resilient applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design and architecture discussions.
  • Build, maintain and enhance both Front End applications and Back End services.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Drive improvements in software design, code quality and development standards.
  • Contribute to integration testing, UAT and production-ready releases.
  • Support the adoption of CI/CD, automation and low-touch deployment practices.
  • Work closely with architecture, engineering and support teams to ensure robust, secure and reliable delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience delivering full-stack software solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Commercial experience with:
    • Java
    • TypeScript/JavaScript
    • SQL databases, including MS SQL Server
    • Angular (React experience also considered)
  • Experience building and integrating Front End applications with Back End services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira, Bitbucket and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and modern architectural patterns.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed development teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Microservices architecture.
  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevOps, CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
  • Architecture and solution design exposure.
  • Financial markets experience, particularly within:
    • Clearing
    • Settlement
    • Trade Lifecycle Management
    • Asset Servicing
    • Post-Trade Processing
