Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Milton Keynes (Hybrid working)

6 months contract/£600 day rate (Inside IR35).

Ideally SC Cleared (Need to be eligible if not)

Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a prestigious public sector organisation, who is looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. Initially 6-month contract with view for extension. This role will hybrid working, with site location in Milton Keynes.

Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting and developing critical enterprise infrastructure services. This role will involve working across a modern virtualisation and cloud platform, supporting existing production environments while also delivering new infrastructure capabilities through project work.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across VMware and Broadcom technologies and be comfortable operating within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain existing VMware infrastructure services
• Design, build, and implement new infrastructure services as part of ongoing project delivery
• Administer and optimise virtualisation platforms and associated technologies
• Work collaboratively with internal technical teams and stakeholders
• Contribute to platform improvements, upgrades, and migrations
• Support high availability, resilience, and performance across the environment
• Assist with cloud migration initiatives and hybrid cloud integration where required
• Produce and maintain technical documentation

Required Technical Skills

Candidates should have strong practical experience with several of the following technologies:

• VMware ESXi
• High Availability (HA) Configuration
• VMware vCenter
• VMware vSAN
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• VMware NSX
• VMware Aria Suite

Experience with Public Cloud migration projects or hybrid cloud environments would be advantageous.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience supporting enterprise VMware environments
• Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure support capability
• Experience delivering infrastructure project work
• Ability to work effectively within established technical teams
• Good understanding of virtualisation best practices and enterprise infrastructure operations
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
• VMware NSX Certification

Desirable Skills

• Public Cloud migration experience (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Hybrid cloud infrastructure experience
• Enterprise platform transformation projects
• Automation and infrastructure-as-code exposure
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
