Senior Java Developer - Contract - 5 Days Onsite

Location: Dublin (5 days onsite)

Contract: 6 months initial (strong extension potential)

Our client, a well established organisation based in Dublin, is seeking a seasoned Java professional to join a high performing delivery team on a fully onsite contract role.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable solutions that meet both business and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in shaping technical solutions from the outset, ensuring maintainability, testability, and ease of integration are built in by design.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to story refinement and clearly defining technical requirements
• Estimate effort and guide the team through delivery across the full SDLC
• Carry out spikes and proof of concepts to reduce risk and validate new ideas
• Develop high quality Java solutions aligned with acceptance and compliance criteria
• Design and implement solutions across data, application and business layers
• Support the team in resolving complex technical challenges
• Design, develop and enhance architectural components while maintaining core architecture integrity
• Build and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
• Set up and enhance CI/CD pipelines
• Automate manual release and deployment activities

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in Java development within large, complex enterprise environments
• Strong hands on experience with Java (JDK 8+) and Spring Framework
• Proven experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services
• Strong working knowledge of GIT, Maven, Jenkins and JIRA
• Experience with application container setup and deployment in Linux environments
• Solid understanding of application security concepts including authentication, authorisation and session management
• Familiarity with OAuth, OIDC, FIDO protocols and related technologies
• LDAP experience highly desirable
• Strong understanding of system architecture, load balancing and TLS
• Familiarity with cryptographic and PKI concepts
• Ability to review vendor documentation and deliver proof of concepts
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self driven approach
