Senior Project Manager Public Safety Technology Projects
Location: Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Ave, Towson, MD 21204 (Hybrid 2 days onsite/week) Duration: 12-Month Contract
Job Summary: Client seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate Public Safety technology initiatives, including Police, Fire, 911, and Corrections projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex, high-profile projects within the Public Safety domain and hold an active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned Public Safety (e.g. Police, Fire, 911, Corrections) technology projects, ensuring alignment with Client and OIT objectives.
- Oversee full project lifecycleplanning, execution, tracking, and deliverywithin scope, budget, and timeline.
- Identify risks, issues, and critical paths, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and deliver project documentation, reports, and executive-level presentations.
- Facilitate meetings, develop agendas, and ensure effective stakeholder communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of project management experience leading large, complex initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Active PMP certification (PMI).
- Hands-on experience with business process, software, and hardware implementation using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of PMI standards, SDLC, and project documentation practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint.
- Prior experience in government or public safety environments.
Certification Requirement: Active Project, Program, Portfolio, or Agile Management certification from PMI.
