Sensor Systems Test Engineer

Our client, a leading innovator in sensor technology and autonomous vehicle systems, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Test Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Test Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Sensor Systems Verification and Validation department, supporting cutting-edge projects in vehicle sensor systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and a passion for advancing autonomous vehicle technology, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $88 per hour

What's the Job?

• Contribute to sensor systems (lidar, camera, radar) verification and validation activities for next-generation vehicle platforms and hardware updates.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, and hardware specialists to develop, standardize, and optimize V&V methodologies for scalable sensor system deployment.
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans to verify sensing system requirements and validate overall system performance.
• Set up test environments, analyze test data, and communicate findings through technical reports and executive updates.
• Develop reusable sensor data analysis and test automation software using Python and/or C++ to streamline testing processes.

What's Needed?

• A degree in engineering with at least 6 years of experience in sensor systems development and testing.
• Familiarity with at least one sensor modality: camera, lidar, or radar.
• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and testing in a laboratory or field environment.
• Proficiency in analyzing data using high-level programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or C++.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, communicating complex technical information clearly and professionally.
