Role Description:

Role Summary

The Senior Service Catalogue Developer is responsible for the technical design, build, and optimisation of the ServiceNow Service Catalog. This role leads the development of scalable, standardised catalog solutions, working closely with Project Managers, architects, service owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, automated request solutions that align with governance and ITIL best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and configuration of ServiceNow Service Catalog items and request models
  • Translate business and functional requirements into robust Service Catalog technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain catalog items, record producers, order guides, and related components
  • Design and implement workflows and automation using Flow Designer, Business Rules, and Script Includes
  • Ensure standardisation, reusability, and scalability of catalog structures and request patterns
  • Enforce governance and best practices across the Service Catalog and associated workflows
  • Manage the technical life cycle of catalog items (build, test, deployment, enhancements, retirement)
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to support delivery milestones and releases
  • Perform unit testing, defect resolution, and support UAT activities
  • Identify and implement automation and optimisation opportunities to improve user experience and fulfilment efficiency
  • Ensure solutions comply with security, audit, and internal control requirements
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and support guides
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers where appropriate

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience developing within ServiceNow Service Catalog
  • Solid experience across ServiceNow ITSM modules (Request Fulfilment, Incident, Change, etc.)
  • Proven experience with Flow Designer, workflows, catalog client scripts, UI policies, and Business Rules
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Request Fulfilment
  • Experience designing end-to-end fulfilment workflows integrating with downstream systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks with minimal supervision

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in large enterprise or multi-vendor environments
  • Exposure to ServiceNow integrations (REST, MID Server, orchestration)
  • Understanding of ServiceNow data models and CMDB relationships
  • Experience supporting catalog governance and rationalisation initiatives
