Sr. Analyst, Materials Planning SIOP

Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a leading designer and manufacturer of focal plane arrays and flight-based camera systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. RVS is split into two manufacturing operations groups: (1) Focal Plane Operations & (2) Camera & Sensor Packaging. The Sr. Analyst, Materials Planning SIOP is nested within Camera & Sensor Packaging and reports directly to the Production Control Manager. Prospective hires will work on a team of 18 Production Control Analysts, all of which sit in one of two administration areas at the local Goleta campus.
What You Will Do
- Physically receive and systemically induct customer and/or government furnished product(s) into Raytheon's MRP and inventory systems of record. Manage the end-to-end process of receiving customer return units, processing them through refurbishment and upgrade value streams, and ensuring on-time shipment back to the customer.
- Physically and systemically kit replacement hardware to customer return units in support of repair and upgrade activity. Work collaboratively with Engineering to determine replacement material requirements and coordinate sell-offs from production programs with department peers to support refurbishment and depot activity.
- Initiate and manage procurement activities through timely release of purchase requisitions, partnering closely with Supply Chain to ensure uninterrupted flow of critical materials. Assess raw material positions and prepare detailed analyses and reports to inform leadership and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) of manufacturing progress, risks, and material constraints.
- Maintain accurate inventory traceability, configuration accountability, and material control throughout the repair and modification lifecycle. This role supports multiple shared components owned by a variety of end users where inaccurate issuance of customer-owned material to the wrong customer can pose significant contractual and operational consequences.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by performing hardware cycle counts in lab environments, verifying availability of sub-assemblies at point of use (POU), and supporting line readiness. Set and adjust production priorities in collaboration with factory leadership, value stream leadership, program management, and cross-functional stakeholders. Present customer unit production and material status to factory and IPT organizations, communicating urgent priorities, risks, and required support actions.
- Walk between multiple buildings on campus, averaging 3,0006,000 steps per day, in support of production and material movement activities. Ability to routinely bend, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- The position is an onsite role at our Goleta, CA facility
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience in production control, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, packing/shipping, supply chain, material handling/management.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, with the ability to analyze requirements, release purchase requisitions, and monitor material flow.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Six Sigma methodology (CORE) and/or tools such as lean.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools to support reporting and decision making.
- Experience interfacing, collaborating, and communicating with all levels of an organization, as well as with a large external customer base, to accomplish tasks.
