Summary:An innovative manufacturing company specializing in industrialized, stick-framed multi-family housing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This organization utilizes advanced techniques to streamline construction processes, reduce costs, and prioritize sustainability. The role will support financial operations of modular building projects, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and cost control. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a solid understanding of construction project workflows.
Accounts Payable• Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices and ensure accurate general ledger coding
• Perform 3-way match for all purchase order invoices and escalate discrepancies as needed
• Enter vendor invoice batches into ERP system for posting
• Maintain electronic filing of invoices and supporting documentation
• Prepare weekly check runs from multiple accounts, including COD prepaids
• Handle daily payment applications including wires and credit cards
• Reconcile AP subledger weekly
• Maintain strong communication and vendor management
General Ledger & Financial Reporting• Perform complex account reconciliations and maintain accurate schedules
• Prepare and review journal entries and adjustments
• Track and analyze operational costs and capital expenditures
• Ensure prepaid expenses are properly recorded and amortized
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Compliance & Auditing• Prepare and track preliminary notices, waivers, and certified payroll documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP including depreciation, asset capitalization, and lease accounting
• Assist with internal and external audits through preparation of schedules and reconciliations
Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or manufacturing
• Familiarity with construction or modular building processes is a plus
• Experience with ERP systems (SAGE 100 or similar preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Work Environment• Onsite role based in Vallejo, CA
• Office environment with prolonged computer use
• Standard business hours with flexibility during month-end close

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
