Technical Architect

Technical Architect - Remote (1 day every two weeks) - Yorkshire - INSIDE IR35

A Technical Architect with an AWS background is required to lead the design and assurance of a high-volume, event-driven AWS platform. This role provides architectural leadership across Agile teams and shapes technical standards and integrations at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture for serverless, event-driven AWS systems.
• Produce HLDs and guide LLDs.
• Define patterns, data models and integration approaches.
• Ensure resilience, scalability, security and operability.
• Oversee engineering assurance, IaC, CI/CD and observability.
• Produce architectural artefacts (C4, AWS diagrams).
• Contribute to architecture boards and governance.

Tech Environment:

• AWS (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena)
• Databricks, Power BI
• Terraform, GitHub Actions
• TypeScript (review), Python (minor)

Essential:

• Senior architecture experience with distributed, event-driven AWS platforms
• Strong documentation skills (HLD, patterns, data flows)
• High-throughput, secure, resilient design experience
• Data integration and modelling expertise
• Agile team leadership and technical assurance
