Technical Architect

Technical Architect - £600/day Inside IR35 - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support a high-profile programme as a hands-on Technical Platform Architect specialising in Kafka and AKS. This Technical Architect role is delivery-focused, owning the design, build and operation of a production-grade Kafka platform within a live enterprise environment.

Your responsibilities as the Technical Architect:

• Design, build and configure a Strimzi-based Kafka platform on AKS
• Own Kafka broker operations including upgrades, performance tuning and optimisation
• Deliver capacity planning, throughput analysis and DR rehearsals
• Build, harden and operate production AKS clusters
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or Terraform
• Define observability, monitoring, alerting and SLOs
• Lead incident response, RCA and operational documentation
• Deliver onsite workshops with SCC customers in London

As a successful Technical Architect, you will have:

• Strong hands-on Apache Kafka production experience
• Strimzi operator experience on Kubernetes
• Deep AKS/Kubernetes platform knowledge
• Prometheus, Grafana and AKHQ experience
• Kubernetes security and cluster hardening expertise
• Strong operational and incident management capability
