Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect (Senior Consultant level) with a strong software development background to support a high-profile contract engagement. This role is well suited to a hands-on architect who has progressed from development into architecture and is comfortable balancing engineering, design, and governance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical involvement, including proof-of-concept development, troubleshooting, and supporting lead developers with key technical decisions
• Designing and implementing low-level software architecture and architectural patterns across codebases
• Providing architectural governance and assurance, ensuring solutions align with best practice and standards
• Contributing to the evolution of systems toward right-sized services using API-led and event-driven architectures
• Supporting the rationalisation of data across multiple, disparate systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect with a strong software development background
• Hands-on development experience using Java and/or Node.js
• Strong understanding of low-level software architecture and analysis
• Experience implementing architecture patterns directly within codebases
• Comfortable operating across hands-on engineering (approx. 50%), design (25%), and governance/assurance (25%)
• Experience with API-driven and event-driven architectures
• Ability to analyse and rationalise data across complex system landscapes

Clearance

• Active SC Clearance required, or eligibility to obtain SC
