Contract Length: 6-12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Engagement Type: Inside IR35

About the role
Exalto Consulting is supporting a large-scale transformation programme within a complex, regulated environment. We are looking for a hands-on Technical Project Manager to play a key role during a critical separation phase, where systems, services and processes are being disentangled and transitioned to new operating models.

This role sits at the centre of delivery, working across technology and business teams to protect live services while enabling change. It requires someone who is comfortable navigating complexity, managing dependencies, and maintaining clarity for stakeholders throughout.

What you'll be doing
You will lead the coordination of technical and business-facing activities impacting key operational areas, ensuring that delivery is structured, understood, and safely executed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating delivery across multiple workstreams, including:
    • End-user computing migrations (eg VDI to desktop environments)
    • Access and identity management changes
    • File transfer and integration migrations (eg SFTP/secure data movement)
  • Acting as the central point of coordination between technology teams, operational business areas, and programme leadership
  • Working closely with business representatives to define readiness and acceptance criteria, ensuring changes are understood and signed off
  • Managing risks, dependencies, and interlocks across a multi-supplier environment
  • Supporting service continuity by identifying and mitigating potential disruption to live operations
  • Providing clear, timely reporting to stakeholders on progress, risks, and constraints
  • Enabling a smooth transition away from Legacy service arrangements by ensuring business and technical readiness
What success looks like
In this role, your impact will be measured by:
  • Stable, uninterrupted business services throughout the separation activity
  • Well-managed migrations with minimal disruption to end users
  • Clear, agreed, and evidenced readiness and acceptance criteria
  • Strong visibility of risks and dependencies for programme leadership
  • Confidence across business teams in the transition process and outcomes
What we're looking for
We're interested in people who bring both delivery discipline and practical technical understanding, alongside the ability to build trust with stakeholders.

Essential experience:
  • Proven track record delivering projects within large-scale technology transformation or separation programmes
  • Strong understanding of:
    • End-user computing/VDI environments
    • Identity and access management
    • File transfer and system integration approaches (eg SFTP)
  • Experience working alongside operational teams to protect live services during change
  • Confident managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholders in complex environments
  • Comfortable working across multiple suppliers and delivery teams
Helpful (but not essential):
  • Familiarity with asset or investment management environments
  • Experience supporting separation or carve-out programmes
  • Ability to mobilise quickly with minimal onboarding
Working arrangements
  • Primarily remote
  • Travel to the Midlands (Telford area) as needed to support key milestones and stakeholder engagement
  • Hybrid working pattern aligned to delivery needs
