Technical Delivery Lead (Contract)

Location: Sheffield (3 days per week on site)
Rate: 450 per day
Contract Length: Until November

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to drive the end-to-end delivery of complex, multidisciplinary technology projects within a large enterprise financial services environment. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate complex governance and delivery landscapes.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of multidisciplinary technical projects, ensuring alignment with CTO strategy and architectural standards.
• Partner closely with Engineering Leads, Architects, and Product Owners to translate business and technical requirements into clear, structured delivery plans.
• Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and issues across teams and platforms.
• Maintain high-quality project artefacts including RAID logs, delivery roadmaps, technical plans, budgets, and executive-level reporting.
• Drive alignment across Engineering, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Service Management, and wider Business stakeholders.
• Oversee vendor and third-party delivery, ensuring all activity aligns with controls, policies, and governance requirements.
• Champion modern engineering practices, including automation, DevOps, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven track record delivering large-scale technology programmes within financial services or complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical understanding of infrastructure, cloud platforms, and modern engineering methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, multimegaton delivery models, and commercial/vendor relationships.
