We're looking for an experienced IT Project manager to help support key IT delivery projects both internally and for our health care customers.

JOBTITLE: TechnicalProject Manager

REPORTS TO: Head of Digital Delivery

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Digital Delivery

WORKINGHOURS: 7.5 Hours per day coveringa service of09:00 to 17:00 - Monday to Friday

JOBPURPOSE

Thepostholder will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technical anddigital projects across N3i and its customer base, including Primary Careorganisations. The role provides structured project management for internalinitiatives and customer facing technical programmes, ensuring delivery to agreedscope, time, cost and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of technical projectssupporting N3i internal services and N3i customers.

Lead delivery of the rolling GP IT Refreshprogramme to replace outdated GP Practice devices.

Project manage IT estate moves, site relocationsand infrastructure changes.

Lead technical onboarding projects for newcustomers.

Maintainclear governance, reporting and risk management across all assigned projects.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication

Act as the primary point of contact for assignedprojects.

Communicate complex technical information to non-technicalaudiences.

Engage with GP practices, PCNs, ICBs, customers,suppliers and internal teams to coordinate delivery activity and resolve issues.

Provide regular progressupdates, highlight reports and escalation of risks, issues and decisions tosenior stakeholders.

Analytical Tasks

Identify, assess and manage project risks,issues and dependencies implementing mitigating actions and escalation asrequired.

Undertake options appraisals and impactassessments for technical delivery approaches and implementation models.

Monitor delivery performance using data andfeedback, identifying improvement opportunities and lessons learned.

Planning and Organisational Skills

Plan and manage multiple projects concurrentlywith competing priorities, adjusting plans in response to operationalpressures.

Develop and maintain project documentationincluding plans, milestones, RAID logs, resource schedules and closure reports.

Coordinate delivery activity across technicalteams, suppliers and customer organisations to meet agreed timescales.

Physical Skills

Standard keyboard and digital system skills witha high level of accuracy for maintaining plans, documentation and reporting.

Occasional travel to GP practices, customerites and N3i locations as required for delivery, assurance or stakeholderengagement.

Policy and Service DevelopmentImplementation

Ensure projects comply with N3i policies, NHSstandards and information governance requirements including data protection.

Contribute to the development of projectmanagement standards, templates and best practice to improve consistency andquality.

Support service redesign and improvementinitiatives arising from project outcomes.

Responsibilities for Financial andPhysical Resources

Support management of project budgets,forecasting and value for money considerations in line with N3i financialprocedures.

Coordinate procurement activity and supplierengagement required for project delivery, including equipment and services.

Ensure appropriate use, tracking and deploymentof IT equipment during refresh, onboarding and move projects.

Responsibilities for Human Resources

Coordinate the work of technical staff andsuppliers assigned to projects, ensuring clarity of tasks, timelines anddeliverables.

Provide guidance and support to colleaguescontributing to delivery, including structured handovers and deploymentcoordination.

Support induction and knowledge transferactivities associated with new services, refreshed estates or onboardingcustomers.

Responsibilities for InformationResources

Maintain accurate project records anddocumentation in line with organisational standards and audit requirements.

Ensure handling of sensitive staff and patientrelated information complies with data protection and information governancepolicies.

Responsibilities for Research andDevelopment

Identify opportunities to improve projectdelivery approaches and technical implementation models across N3i and customerenvironments.

Support pilots and evaluation of new deliverymethods, tools or technologies where appropriate.

Freedom to Act

The post holder will manage and organise their ownworkload, use their own initiative and work within the organisations policiesand procedures.

The postholder will work to agreed objectivesand will have the freedom to interpret these and deliver results autonomously.

They will be required to identify delivery risksand issues, take corrective action and elevate appropriately through agreedgovernance.

Able towork on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and other workloads tochanging and often tight deadlines.
