Whitebridge is looking for a Telecommunications Obsolescence Lead to support a large technology change programme for our utilities client.

Experience Required:

  • Senior-level experience leading telephony or communications obsolescence programmes, particularly in the context of PSTN/ISDN withdrawal
  • Proven experience taking accountability for telephony risk decisions, including determining what changes are safe and acceptable under operational constraints
  • Hands-on experience assessing and validating Legacy telephony estates, focusing on risk, dependencies, and operational impact
  • Strong experience defining and approving telephony solution approaches, including Legacy PBX stabilisation, SIP/IP migration, and hybrid solutions
  • PBX platforms (eg Avaya, Mitel)
  • Demonstrated experience challenging carrier and vendor proposals as a technical authority in safety-critical or regulated environments
  • Experience working closely with delivery and infrastructure teams to align telephony decisions with site sequencing and connectivity dependencies
  • Deep professional experience in enterprise or industrial telephony environments, with the judgement to make decisions under time pressure and uncertainty
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone (Direct Routing or Operator Connect) would be useful to have

The successful applicant should be able to commit to starting ASAP. The role for will be remote/home-based, with weekly office visits and will be umbrella based working. Direct applicants only please.
