Telemetry Application Support Engineer
12 Month contract initially + Extensions
Based: Max 2 days p/w onsite in Falmer, West Sussex
Rate - £120 - £140 p/d via Umbrella

A progressive organisation where you can really make a difference. We have a great opportunity for a number of Telemetry Application Support Engineer's on a long term program of work.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support for telemetry and business applications.
* Manage and resolve service requests, incidents, and problem tickets in line with agreed service levels.
* Perform fault analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of application issues.
* Support BAU operations, application enhancements, and transition activities.
* Liaise with Service Desk and Service Delivery teams to ensure effective support processes.
* Perform database configuration and maintenance activities in line with established standards.
* Support project activities by providing effort estimates and technical input where required.
* Maintain knowledge articles, configuration information, and support documentation.
* Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure operational stability and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience:
* Experience in Application Support, Production Support, or L2 Support roles.
* Experience managing service requests, incidents, and problem management activities.
* Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and toolsets.
* Strong troubleshooting and fault-analysis skills.
* Experience working with business-critical applications in a support environment.
* Good understanding of database concepts and application configuration.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
* Experience working with Service Desk and Service Delivery teams.
* Willingness to learn telemetry and operational technology systems through structured training.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
* Exposure to Telemetry, SCADA, or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
* Knowledge of PLCs and telemetry-related systems.
* Experience within Utilities, Water, Energy, or other critical infrastructure sectors.
* Telecommunications or IT Network support experience.
* Hardware installation and maintenance experience.
* Programming or Scripting knowledge.
* ITIL Foundation v4 certification (or higher).
* Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, Database Administration, or a related discipline.
