Test Engineer

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Test Engineer X2 for a 12 Month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in either Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Senior Test Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
. Define and implement comprehensive test strategy to assure the quality of multiple digital services.
. Guide and collaborate with test engineers to effectively utilise CI/CD pipelines.
. Develop and maintain automated test suites to increase confidence in regression testing and releases.
. Collaborate closely with software engineering, architecture and DevOps colleagues to align testing activities with product goals.
. Collaborate with lead test engineer to ensure approach is in line with DWP best practice.
. Collaborate with the team to define and conduct performance testing to ensure application stability.

Essential:
. Strong hands-on experience in test automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, REST Assured).
. Experience with performance testing tools
. Strong experience with a programming language (ideally Java)
. Familiarity with cloud platforms (eg AWS, Azure, GCP) and testing in a cloud-native environment.

Desirable:
. Public Sector background
