Overview

The client is seeking an experienced Communication Surveillance Analyst to join its Capital Markets Surveillance team. This role is focused on the timely and accurate execution of communication surveillance activities across key risk areas, with a particular emphasis on Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) businesses.

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience using the TradingHub Surveillance platform, alongside a strong background in voice surveillance and communications surveillance within FICC markets. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of surveillance frameworks, support regulatory reporting obligations, and partner with key stakeholders across the business to strengthen market conduct controls.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct communications and voice surveillance across FICC business lines using the firm's surveillance tools, procedures and established team protocols.
  • Utilise the TradingHub Surveillance platform to identify, investigate and escalate potential market conduct risks and regulatory concerns.
  • Review and analyse surveillance alerts, ensuring investigations are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Compile and submit relevant regulatory reports where required.
  • Work closely with the London surveillance team and management to proactively manage surveillance-related risks and controls.
  • Support the production, maintenance and enhancement of Management Information (MI) and reporting.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of surveillance methodologies, controls and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and monitor records of surveillance findings, remedial actions and recommendations to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, Front Office and other stakeholders on surveillance-related matters, investigations and control enhancements.
  • Assist in the development and optimisation of surveillance frameworks across communication, voice and trade surveillance activities.
  • Support the evolution of the surveillance programme, including potential involvement in trade surveillance activities across Fixed Income and FX markets.
Required Skills & experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within Communications Surveillance, Voice Surveillance, Compliance Monitoring or a related Surveillance function.
  • Essential: Hands-on experience with the TradingHub Surveillance tool.
  • Essential: Strong experience conducting voice surveillance and communications surveillance within FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities) environments.
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income and FX products, markets and trading practices.
  • Working knowledge of market abuse risks, trading conduct controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience investigating surveillance alerts and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple reviews and priorities simultaneously.
  • Risk-focused mindset with the ability to challenge and escalate where necessary.
  • Flexible approach to both BAU activities and change initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable
  • experience with trade surveillance tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of market conduct regulations applicable to Fixed Income, FX and Commodities markets.
  • experience contributing to surveillance enhancement projects, control improvements or strategic initiatives.
