Overview
Société Générale Securities Services (SGSS) is part of Global Banking & Investor Solutions and is the 2nd largest custodian in Europe. SGSS Ireland supports Irish and offshore collective investment vehicles, acting as depositary for UCITS, alternative investment funds, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee custody requirements for Irish and non Irish domiciled schemes, ensuring accurate settlement of cash, securities and corporate actions.
- Support the middle office of the Securities Banking Operations (SBO) division, including project participation, new product launches, and structured financial deals.
- Ensure accuracy of automated client settlement instructions and investigate failing trades, consulting counterparties and brokers as needed.
- Manage client queries with clarity and empathy, maintaining strong client relationships.
- Monitor the full back to front flow of client Fund of Fund and cash operations.
- Liaise with Fund Administrators for stock & cash reconciliation.
- Collaborate with the SGSS sub custody network to address client requests efficiently.
- Work with the tax team on tax set up for clients.
- Monitor corporate events and ensure they are reflected on client accounts.
- Liaise with Paris & Nantes teams on post trade, custody and middle office queries.
- Calculate client invoices and distribute them monthly.
- Attend to client access needs relative to the SGSS custody interface.
- Prepare and circulate Custody Confirmations when requested by auditors.
Program Details - VIE Assignment
- The VIE in Dublin lasts 18 months, beginning as soon as possible after application.
- Practical preparation period of approximately 3 months is required before the start date.
- The assignment is open to candidates under 28 from EU member states and requires a Master's degree from a recognised business, engineering or finance school.
- A formal proof of M2 diploma validation must be provided before the assignment starts; grade sheets are not accepted.
Qualifications
- Graduate with a Master's degree in business, engineering, maths or finance.
- Previous experience in financial services, trustee, custody or compliance is desirable.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written communication skills.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Word and Excel; VBA knowledge is an advantage.
- Highly flexible, time management and organisational skills. Able to prioritise important tasks.
- Positive, can do attitude with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments, stock markets and financial product knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
