Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide technical assistance and support for our organization's computer systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer systems and networks and excellent problem-solving abilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including operating systems and applications.
- Assist with network connectivity problems and basic network troubleshooting.
- Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Document technical issues and solutions in a ticketing system.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
- Ensure security patches and updates are applied to all systems
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and configurations (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS).
- Ability to conduct remote support sessions effectively.
- Familiarity with IT security principles and data protection best practices.(
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
- Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common enterprise applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.
