The leading consultancy firm has partnered with a leading car manufacturing company. They are currently seeking an experienced Network Support Engineer to join the team on a 6-month contract. Additionally, this is a full-time onsite role at the manufacturing plant in Solihull.

Responsibilities:
- Work 5 or 4 days onsite in a 24x7 shift-based support model, including night and weekend shifts; must be flexible to work 12-hour or 8-hour shifts as required.
- Provide first and second-level support for day-to-day network incidents and issues.
- Monitor the network and coordinate with the network tools team for device management.
- Handle incidents, changes, problems, and configurations within the network infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain the on-site network spares inventory.
- Collaborate with the Network Delivery team to support ongoing projects from an operational standpoint.
- Keep the Network CMDB and all associated documentation up to date.
- Support cable patching requests and maintain accurate cable management records.
- Coordinate with telecom providers, service partners, and OEMs during faults or hardware failures.
- Travel to other sites as necessary for support assignments or project delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- CCNA Certification is mandatory.
- Valid UK Driving License is required – must be able to drive a company-provided van across the plant.
- Proven experience in Cisco Routing & Switching environments (LAN & WAN).
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities with Cisco Nexus 5k/7k, Enterprise routers (3900/3800), and LAN switches (6500/4500/3700/3500/2900 series), including CAT OS.
- Good understanding of wireless technologies (both autonomous and lightweight).
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, HPOV NNMi, and Prime Infrastructure.
- Experience coordinating with telecom/service providers and third-party vendors.
- Familiarity with network cabling standards, including Ethernet and fibre modules.
