Freelance Project Manager - Tax & Finance

For our partner we are looking for a Project Manager to support a large horizontal initiative: the rollout of a new Tax Engine across multiple jurisdictions. This role is critical in ensuring smooth post go-live operations, resolving issues, and supporting the Senior Program Leader in executing the program effectively.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of issues, formulate solutions, and manage dependencies to reduce risks. Your ability to lead independently, manage senior stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives will be key to success.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-complexity, strategic end-to-end project with minimal supervision
Monitor and manage post go-live issues across jurisdictions
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes and define mitigating actions
Track and report progress regularly across all workstreams
Support prioritization and decision-making processes for program leaders
Build business cases to improve customer, partner, and business impact
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment across teams
Partner with Business Units and Corporate Functions to align resources and budgets
Promote best practices in project management methodology and behaviors
Support strategic planning and annual budgeting cycles

Requirements

Proven experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions
Experience in strategic planning and business operations
Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment
Fluent in English
