Job Title: Staff Accountant

Pay: $70 - $80K / depending on experience

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a reputable company to hire a Staff Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and fast-paced accounting team supporting a portfolio of general ledger accounts. Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the monthly close process across multiple entities. This individual will collaborate with various departments to ensure financial integrity and provide valuable insights through detailed reporting and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, for multiple real estate properties in accordance with GAAP.
Support cross-functional teams by providing accurate financial data and timely accounting assistance.
Analyze financial performance by reviewing ledgers, variance reports, and reconciliation schedules.
Coordinate with operational teams to record monthly accruals and ensure proper cut-off procedures.
Handle journal entries and manage the full month-end close cycle.
Ensure daily posting of cash receipts and maintenance of accurate tenant records.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and create supplemental financial schedules.
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and maintain thorough backup documentation.
Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports, highlighting key operational insights.
Verify accuracy of invoices including vendor data, coding, and applicable taxes.
Cross-reference payables with lease, loan, rent, and utility schedules.
Assist with audit processes and joint venture reporting, handling sensitive data with discretion.
Contribute to ongoing projects and support team initiatives as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of general accounting experience; real estate industry experience preferred
Proficient in GAAP and general ledger processes
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Effective communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Experience with accounting software and intermediate Excel skills

Additional Details:

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Reports to: Controller or Senior Accounting Manager
On-site vs. Hybrid: Hybrid
